Rohit Malhotra
Practice Transition and Valuation Consultant
Hello! I’m Dr. Rohit Malhotra, Practice Transition and Valuation Consultant, at Veterinary Solut!ons Services (VSS). I have over 20 years of leadership experience—as a Founder, Director, VP, and Chief of Medicine—across diverse industries including investment banking, national human and veterinary healthcare operations (ranging from $2M to $200M in operational revenue), and mixed animal clinical practice. I bring a deep understanding of the veterinary industry and practice ownership, having built several clinical practices and worked in a wide range of hospital settings including corporate, private, nonprofit, ER/specialty, general practice, and ambulatory care. Over the years, I’ve treated a variety of patients—from dogs and cats to horses, livestock, and even elephants.
Using my knowledge, skillset, and network, I enjoy helping current veterinary owners enhance the value of their practices and transition successfully to achieve their life goals. I’m also passionate about mentoring the next generation of veterinary owners and buyers who are eager to step into ownership but need guidance to move forward. I earned a B.S. in Management (Finance track) and a B.A. in Biology from Boston College, followed by a dual DVM/MBA degree from Colorado State University. I completed a rotating clinical-business internship at IVG Hospitals and an executive management fellowship at Ethos Veterinary Health. I’m certified in Exit Planning Advisory and Valuations, and I hold a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to help improve clinical efficiency and practice value.
My clinical interests include anesthesia (capture and chemical immobilization), theriogenology, integrative medicine, and rehabilitation, and I use this clinical knowledge and skillset to improve elephant healthcare internationally through a non-profit I founded. I also apply this expertise to improve elephant healthcare internationally through my nonprofit work.
