Senior Vice President of Growth and Partnerships

Hi, I’m Dusty Bonner, Senior Vice President of Growth and Partnerships. I’m honored to bring my leadership and operational experience to the team at Veterinary Solutions Services (VSS). My professional journey has taken me from military service to corporate leadership—all anchored in a passion for helping others grow, overcome challenges, and achieve meaningful success.

While attending Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in business, I joined the United States Marine Corps as an Officer. Over nearly ten years of service, I had the privilege of leading some of the toughest Marines through both combat and peacetime missions. I discovered a deep appreciation for leadership, strategic management, and financial operations—skills that I’ve continued to refine ever since.

Throughout my military career, I led units of more than 500 Marines and collaborated with hundreds of soldiers across five countries, navigating complex missions over vast geographic regions. These experiences helped shape my leadership philosophy: build clarity, develop talent, and lead with integrity no matter the terrain.

My transition to the veterinary industry was sparked by a desire to make a difference in a field that supports the health and happiness of the animals we love. I launched my own business focused on growing independent and small group veterinary hospitals—bringing together my passions for leadership, management, and financial strategy. That venture quickly rose to become one of the top veterinary consulting groups in North America.
From there, I partnered with Trupanion, a leading provider of medical insurance for pets, and took on the role of Chief Growth Officer. Leading a team of over 300 professionals, we exceeded growth projections every year—achieving more than 30% annual growth and setting new standards for what’s possible in veterinary business development.

Today, I’m thrilled to be part of the mission at VSS. We’re here to transform veterinary practices through innovative, sustainable solutions—always with people at the heart of everything we do.
